Fall in Vancouver - Roedde House Museum

Every year in Vancouver the trees that line our street turn beautifully yellow, orange and brown before falling off the tree and clogging our drains resulting in flash floods once it rains. However, for that brief period of time the leaves are wonderful and it really gets you in the pumpkin spice spirit.

This year we had much less rain and it has been a bit warmer so the leaves stuck around for quite some time and I managed to sneak out with my daughter and snap a few fall photos before we lost the leaves.

We trotted out to a local park which is also home to the Roedde House Museum, an old Victorian house, built around 1888, that has been restored. You can take a trip through it to see how people lived back then. It has some great features like little stone walls, a gazebo, a fountain and a Barclay Square. This square was covered in wonderfully vibrant orange leaves! Stirling enjoyed kicking them around and occasionally shoving one in her mouth.

Roedde House is able to be rented for weddings as well, and would be a perfect venue for a Victorian themed wedding or any couple who happen to have a heart for that style - especially during the fall as the square would be a great spot for couple portraits and portraits with family with all the warm colours of autumn.

It is an easy hop, skip and a jump down to the beach or over to Stanley Park for some additional photos. The two main rooms can accommodate 50 people and have a modern kitchen for catered events.
